Daniel Caeser, the Canadian R&B singer-songwriter from Toronto just released two new tracks; We Find Love and Blessed.
The artist has gained a huge buzz ever since he collaborated with Kali Uchis on Get You, of course his single Japanese Denim got over a million streams on Soundcloud as well; his talent proves his success is worthy.
He dropped Pilgrim’s Paradise in 2015, his 7 track EP which has features from BADBADNOTGOOD and his homie Sean Leon, both being apart of the collective IXXI. The EP starts off with a clip from Trinity Bellwoods Park in Toronto, and then goes into Death & Taxes. The project shows a great amount of soul, live instruments, and emotional lyrics. Daniel is known to sing a lot about love and relationships, with his authenticity peeking out to his listeners with his vocals. He reflects on knowing his destiny, but not being there yet with tracks such as Streetcar; Daniel pays homage to his city.
He’s been working on his new music, set to be a full-length project which doesn’t yet have a title or release date, all we know is that Daniel has been creating beautiful sounds for his listeners and decided to drop the first two tracks last week.
The artist posted on social media that the two tracks he dropped is how he’s feeling lately, for the most part. With We Find Love being a love song, he reflects on being in love with the girl of his dreams, but she doesn’t love him anymore. With a gospel-vibe in the chorus, Daniel sings “We find love/We get up/ when we fall down/we give up, showing his sorrows of a troubled heart.
Blessed on the other hand, is about possibly the same, speaking on the fact that if she’s around him, he doesn’t want to be there. He needs her energy and be near here. Even though he’s a mess, and they can’t be by themselves, he’s Blessed to be with her. He wishes he could go back in time and make everything better.
