To get your summer right, I’ve created a Summer playlist for yall to vibe out. I know, I know, summer is already passing by and a huge chunk of it is gone, but don’t worry! There is still more sunny days ahead and great music has been released so far. Here are a top ten tracks for the summer of 2017 below for you to enjoy.

Drake- Free Smoke

It’s only right to start this off with Drake’s More Life that dropped March 18th this year. With a lot of positive feedback on it, Drake has gotten multiple features from Skepta, Jorja Smith, Quavo, Travis Scott, 2 Chainz plus more – making it the playlist of the year. Free Smoke is his intro track for the whole album – giving you more chune for yo headtop.

CMDWN COLLECTIVE – Hellalujah

CMDWN COLLECTIVE – Castro Guapo and FIJI, rappers from Atlanta based in Toronto has made big moves with his music in the city – so it’s only right to big him up. Dropping Castro vs. FIJI (Hosted by Teo Nio) EP this year three months ago, the two have managed to get even more recognition. Their newest music video for Hellalujah definitely helped, which shows them ambushing a McDonalds in the city – by throwing smoke grenades and throwing bills everywhere. Many thought they were under attack – making the visual incredibly intriguing to watch what went down.

OMYGOTTI Isn’t That Wryght (Prod. by ScolBeatz)

After his Thought I Forgot? EP released five months ago, OMYGOTTI dropped a new track Isn’t That Wryght that keep those intrigued. Flexin’, money, b*tches, smoking and drinking – what better way to spend the summer. This track will get you hype off being boastful of yourself- and hey, that’s not bad to do once in a while – especially being lit in the summertime.

Dillan Ponders- PLANET PONDERS

Dillan Ponders, Kesington King of the city has been putting in work- from Acid Reign to working on his newest album No Mans Land, Ponders greatly deserves the recognition for all the work he puts into his craft. PLANET PONDERS is the perfect track to blast at a house party, matter of fact any party at all. But don’t get it twisted, you can easily vibe out to this at home too. The energetic production by Dutchy will guarantee have you bangin’ your head while taking in Ponders personal yet confident lyrics in his authentic raspy vocals.

Blacka Da Don – Foot In (Prod. Eestbound)

Black Da Don releases Foot In, catchy track produced by Eestbound – the Toronto rapper that you might be sleeping on. Click play above and vibe out to Foot In – an anthem for putting in work for your craft. Stay tuned for his upcoming EP – Sriracha being the 1st track that has already been released on his Soundcloud.

The Weeknd- Secrets

The Weeknd released Star Boy last year and was debuted number one on Billboard’s Canadian Albums Chart. Months later, he released the music video for Secrets off of Starboy– which was filmed in Toronto’s Reference Library. Directed by Pedro Martin-Calero, The Weeknd made an anthem for lovers – matter of fact, lovers that have been caught cheating.

PARTYNEXTDOOR- Freak In You

PND surprisingly dropped his COLOURS 2 EP back in June – and decided to do something no artist has ever done – at least from what I know anyways. He creatively put all four tracks from the EP into one visual – using Freak In You at the beginning. A track for those summer hookups, flings or lovers. A sensual vibe for those in love or in lust. Can’t miss out on this one that’s for sure.

dvsn- Think About Me

As this playlist goes further into those R&B vibes, dvsn, Toronto duo that has made the city proud released Think About Me. The track will leave you in your feelings- thinking about someone you have feelings for, or had feelings for. Nevertheless, Daniel’s Godly vocals and Nineteen85’s production is perfect for love making or simply reminiscing.

J-SOUL- Only One

Enough of the feelings, vibe out to J-SOUL’s Only One– the perfect track for drinking and dancing on the beach to. Those dance-hall vibes that J-SOUL brings is simply amazing. The versatile artist from Weston never disappoints – bringing those dance-hall to fruition. Even though the track is catchy and happy-sounding – he does admit to diggin’ ‘only one’ shorty – creating a love yet sensual track for his fans to appreciate and especially for the ladies out there with self-respect.

a l l i e – Bad Habits

a l l i e, Toronto R&B singer-songwriter just released her new track produced by Birthday Boy – Toronto producer off of her newly released debut LP Nightshade. The trippy and colourful visual for Bad Habits was directed by Mark Martin shows a l l i e’ s style – pink water in the sink, pink pills, a pink vintage couch and shades, a l l i e confesses her bad habits in her soft voice and looks graceful doing so in nature.
